New Career Path?

I'm considering a new career option. Creating shows for kids. Considering the "competition", it can't be that difficult. Yo Gabba Gabba? Really? That's all you've got? I can imagine that creative meeting.

"How about we have some... monsters? blobs? unidentifiable life forms?... dance around singing ridiculous songs? We could give one of them abnormally long arms that flail about in a creepy manner. To teach acceptance. Of people with unusually long arms."

And what's up with DJ Lance? There's something not right about that guy. If we came across DJ Lance, I would grab the kids and run the other direction.

I read that the over-the-top humor is intended to appeal to parents, thereby providing a show entertaining for the entire family. That brand of humor is lost on me. Am I the only adult who doesn't find Yo Gabba Gabba appealing? To be fair, I've never been able to look past the costumes and poor choreography to find the value of the show. We rarely watch Yo Gabba Gabba, but apparently it appeals to Big One. Today at the lunch table, he entertained us with a rendition of "There's a Party In My Tummy".

So tell me, Mamas. Am I missing something in Yo Gabba Gabba? Don't worry, I won't hold it against you if you find arm-flailing blobs appealing. I just miss the Smurfs and Tom and Jerry type shows of my youth. The kids shows of today just aren't doing it for me.

I'm with you! I so dislike Yo Gabba Gabba. I think it's the creepiest. I quickly change the channel if it's on. If I don't, Zach is quickly entranced. Tom and Jerry? The best. My kids think it's HILARIOUS.

Yep, I'm with you, too. I have NO idea what the deal is with Yo Gabba Gabba. But then I don't get Teletubbies or Barney either...and for some odd reason, the kids LOVE them.

BTW, I'm not a fan of Max & Ruby either. Max NEVER listens despite his always being right. But Josiah LOVES the show.

I totally know where you're coming from. It's extremely creepy! No Yo Gabba Gabba at my house, I'm afraid the little ones brains will turn to goo.

i agree 100 percent with you, the shows nowadays ar get worse and worse.
I hate YoGabbaGabba, and i can not stand the Wiggles, the two most annoying shows on tree house,
another show i dont really understand is Toopy and Binoo, what is the point of it? its really annoying and it makes me wonder, once i was watching and toopy kept repeating that he was the best blower, they put so much emphasis the fact that he was good at blowing things.
The few shows i like watching with my twins are sesame street, Franklin, Miffy, Dora/Deigo, 4 squares and comfy couch.
I really miss tom and jerry and tweet and sylvester and the road runner and bugs bunny, those were the best cant we go back to that?

We've watched it once at our house. It started putting me into a coma. Once I regained consciousness, I realized how incredibly CREEPY it is. I do not get it - not one little bit.

I feel the same way about Yo Gabba Gabba. We watched it once, and it nearly drove me crazy. And its not even about anything at all. It is offically banned from our t.v.
